3D Electronics Center
General Page Body

The University of Minnesota’s 3D Electronics Center (3DE) is a newly created maker space that enables internal and external customers to learn about and print active electronic functional devices and displays. The center is open to all – students, researchers, faculty, members of the public, and business.

Over the past 50 years, the active electronics era has emerged as a uniquely human-made technology and led to an astounding number of breakthrough innovations in all fields. The McAlpine Research Group has developed and patented the ability to translate the fabrication of electronics and other functional devices from start to finish onto a relatively simple desktop 3D printing platform housed under ambient conditions that requires only a few materials and inks. Applications include printing electronics on-the-fly, bionics, and next-generation biomedical devices.

The 3DE will soon be able to assist you with all your 3D electronics printing needs, starting with a personalized training sessions. Stay tuned for the launch of our Training Request form, and reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions you have in the meantime.
